emerging tech

One new technology emerging this year is a 'laser pointer' for detecting roadside bombs.
The creator, Marcus Dantus, says "creating something to detect these IED's is extremely important, but also difficult, because other chemicals out of the field can mask the few you are attempting to find."
The laser works by putting out an output of about the same as a simple presentation printer, and sending pulses which "kick", the molecules and make them vibrate, as well at long pulses used to "listen" and identify different "chords". These chords have different frequencies, much like fingerprints. This is a lot like sonar.\
